Large forum in Tehran: A new era is beginning in business relations between Uzbekistan and Iran
Today, on May 11, a business forum between Uzbekistan and Iran took place in the capital of Iran, Tehran. The opening ceremony of this event, which set new prospects for economic cooperation, was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Rahimi.

The main focus of the forum was on developing trade and investment relations between the two countries, and new agreements were signed. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Iran currently exceeds 500 million dollars, and the number of joint ventures exceeds 210.

During the meeting, it was reported that the existing economic opportunities and resources of the two countries were thoroughly analyzed, resulting in the identification of new growth points. A portfolio of projects and trade agreements worth a total of 1 billion dollars was specifically noted.

In his speech, Abdulla Aripov emphasized the economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and the policies aimed at attracting foreign investments.

“Thanks to the initiative of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, wide opportunities are being created for entrepreneurs and investors in our country. In recent years, Uzbekistan's gross domestic product has doubled, and according to the International Monetary Fund, our country's GDP indicator has exceeded 100 billion dollars for the first time in history,” said the Prime Minister.

It was noted at the forum that the volume of foreign investments in Uzbekistan's economy in recent years has exceeded 70 billion dollars, and the country is rich in mineral resources and unique natural resources. The complete liberalization of the currency market and the absence of any restrictions on the repatriation of income create very favorable conditions for foreign entrepreneurs.

Iranian businessmen were also offered to effectively utilize the special industrial zones in the Khorezm and Samarkand regions.

More than 100 entrepreneurs and representatives of ministries and agencies from Uzbekistan participated in the forum, and many new business agreements were signed in B2B format.

The Uzbekistan-Iran business forum will elevate the economic relations between the two countries to a new level and will serve to further increase the volume of cooperation in the coming years.

The Zamin.uz editorial team will also closely monitor the next stages of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran and deliver important news.
