Brighton midfielder Jeremi Sarmiento may change clubs this summer, but the Ecuadorian footballer’s main goal is to continue his career in Europe. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to a report by The Athletic, the 23-year-old player was previously targeted by Brazil's Cruzeiro club. According to the source, the parties reached an agreement on the terms of the transfer and personal contracts.
However, at the last minute, Sarmiento rejected the move to Brazil, stating that he wants to remain in European football. In the past 2024/25 season, he played on loan at Burnley, appearing in 39 matches and scoring five goals against the opponent's net.
His current contract with Brighton is set to last until the end of June 2027.
