“Rostov” football club defender Ilya Vakhaniya shared his thoughts on the team's goals in the current season of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, the main goal of the team is to reach as high a position as possible in the tournament table. The footballer emphasized that the team is progressing step by step in this direction.

First of all, the team is trying to avoid the playoff matches for the lower positions, and then it will fight to climb higher in the table. Ilya Vakhaniya also stated that he has set clear goals for himself.

He mentioned that he aims to show stable performance in every game and to be called up to the Russian national team more frequently. At the same time, the 24-year-old defender noted that he has played in three matches in the Russian Premier League and the country’s Cup this season, but has not yet recorded a goal or an assist.

For reference, last season the “Rostov” team finished in eighth place in the Russian championship. The team is preparing for the new season with the aim of achieving better results.
