Rahimov: Our victory is deserved, but it was a nervous one

The head coach of the "Rubin" team, Rashid Rahimov, shared his thoughts with "Match TV" after the match against "Sochi." This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

In response to a question about how satisfied he was with the game, the coach said: "I was told that the result in terms of chances was 9:4 in our favor. Maybe they made a mistake, but I had been saying for two days that this game would be tough.

The opponent is a strong and dangerous team. As for the Sochi team, they couldn't perform well in the last 10 minutes against 'Lokomotiv' and in the first 15 minutes against 'Akron.'

However, during the remaining time, they played very well. Their squad is also strong.

We prepared well for today's game. During the break, I told the players that we hadn't given the opponent any chances for 35 minutes and that we had controlled the game.

Why did we give the opponent chances again? This is probably related to psychology.

The last 10 minutes of the first half and the beginning of the second half did not go well for us. By the 60th minute, we got back into the game, started to defend actively, and increased the pressure.

The weather was also very hot and heavy. We had opportunities to score.

Our second goal was beautiful, but the score was dangerous. The opponent created a situation in front of our goal and they scored.

This led to nervousness in the final minutes. Overall, our victory was deserved," said Rahimov.
