Andrey Arshavin, who won a bronze medal with the Russian national team at the Euro 2008 tournament, expressed his opinion on where the national team's friendly matches should be held. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the Russian Football Union should not be limited to the city of Moscow and should organize more matches in the regions. In Arshavin's view, each game is perceived not only as a celebration but also as an important event in the regions.
Furthermore, the Russian Football Union will hold many events before the matches. The population shows even greater interest in such games outside of Moscow.
Yesterday, the Russian Football Union confirmed that the Russian national team will play a friendly match against the Jordanian team on September 4 as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying round. However, the location of the match has not yet been determined.
Additionally, it was previously mentioned that a friendly match with Russia could also be held in Argentina in the fall of 2025, but there is currently no specific information on this.
