Andrey Arshavin, a former player of the St. Petersburg "Zenit" team and the Russian national team, expressed his opinion about the future of midfielder Ilzat Ahmetov. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Although the transfer rights of Ahmetov belong to "Zenit," he was recently loaned to the "Krylya Sovetov" team. According to Arshavin, Ahmetov has had little playing time in the main lineup and is unlikely to have more opportunities this season.
His contract will expire in a year. Arshavin believes that Ahmetov's career at "Zenit" may be coming to an end.
Additionally, Arshavin emphasized that Ahmetov still has the potential to prove himself at higher-level clubs, as his age allows for it. Ahmetov has played 21 matches for "Zenit" but has not stood out with effective actions.
Previously, he has also played for "Rubin," CSKA, and "Krasnodar." Therefore, experts speculate that his career may continue at another team.
Ahmetov's future activities are being closely monitored by the football community.
