Richard Masters, the Chief Executive of the English Premier League, commented on the possibility of holding some matches of the English championship in other countries. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, there are currently no plans to organize matches abroad. This issue is not present in his work documents and is not being discussed.
The BBC publication quoted Masters' words. Such proposals were first put forward by local football officials in 2008, but the idea was abandoned due to criticism from the media and fans.
Additionally, reports have emerged that the football federations of Italy and Spain are planning to hold some matches of their national championships in Australia and the USA. Currently, the English Premier League does not support such initiatives and prioritizes holding its matches mainly within the country.
This is considered important to preserve the national traditions of football and protect the interests of the fans.
