Former president of the “Spartak” team Andrey Chervichenko shared his thoughts on the friendly match between the “red-whites” and “Krylya Sovetov” in an exclusive interview with the “Evro-Futbol.Ru” website. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He noted that the match ended in a 2:2 draw. According to Chervichenko, if it weren't for goalkeeper Frolov, “Spartak” wouldn't have even managed to secure a draw.
However, there is not much responsibility in friendly matches. He stated that good young Russian players took to the field in the game, but once the season starts, the legionnaires will play in the main lineup, and the young players will remain on the bench.
This is a regrettable situation. He mentions that Stankovich is monitoring young players, but criticizes him for fielding more experienced legionnaires in the main game.
Among the young players, he particularly liked Guziev and Massaly, and he also highly appreciates Umyarov's heading skills, but emphasizes that these actions need to be directed towards the opponent's goal. He states that the reason “Spartak” sometimes concedes goals to its own net is due to disorder, and the main problem lies with the coach.
A good player does not always make a good coach, and there are many examples of this. He does not have high hopes for “Spartak” to win in upcoming matches.
The important thing is to observe the game of young players and see their development. If they cannot take to the field, they should immediately transfer to another team, as they need to play, grow, and develop.
Currently, the young players played significantly better than the legionnaires, which indicates the coach and those around him do not trust them. The fact that people are being offered to the team for high salaries reduces the opportunities for young players to play on the field.
