The head coach of the Brazil national team, Carlo Ancelotti, has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment in Spain. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This punishment was imposed due to tax violations related to the 2014 tax payments. At the same time, Ancelotti was found not guilty in a similar case from 2015.
Additionally, Ancelotti was fined 386,362 euros. The prosecution accused Ancelotti of failing to pay taxes on all his income during his initial period at the "Real" club.
The coach emphasized that he had no intention of committing fraud and acted based on the advice of consultants and club representatives. In Spain, a sentence of less than two years is often considered conditional.
Therefore, there is a high probability that Ancelotti's sentence will be conditional. This case once again highlighted the importance of accountability before the law for prominent athletes and coaches.
