Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Svetlana Jurova expressed her opinion about the Fan ID system being implemented in Russian football. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It has been revealed that a bill to cancel the Fan ID was rejected at a recent State Duma meeting. Jurova emphasized in her statement that the authority to cancel the Fan ID belongs to the government.
She also noted that Russia may return to international competitions in the near future. According to the deputy, even if the Fan ID system is canceled by law now, international competitions will take place next year.
Therefore, there may be a need to reintroduce the system. It is considered a correct decision for the government to determine where the Fan ID is necessary and where it is not.
This was stated by Jurova in an interview with Sport24. There is little time left until the new season of the Russian Premier League.
The first match of the new championship will be held on July 18, Friday. On this day, the teams "Dinamo" and "Baltika" will take the field.
Only fans with a Fan ID passport will be able to attend all matches of the Premier League. This procedure has been implemented to ensure the safety of football fans and to conduct the games in an orderly manner.
