The government of Uzbekistan has approved new measures to reform the street lighting system in Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision serves to develop the capital's lighting infrastructure and to form a modern approach to its use. An important aspect of the reforms is the reorganization of the state unitary enterprise "Toshshaharnur," which now holds the status of a state institution directly subordinate to the Tashkent city administration.
This change signifies not only a shift in the management system but also an expansion of the organization's functional responsibilities. The new structure will take full responsibility for managing the external lighting system, providing technical maintenance, strategic modernization, and improving energy efficiency.
One of the key directions of the new system is the introduction of automated technologies that allow remote control and precise accounting of electricity consumption. This approach aims to optimize costs and ensure energy savings.
Additionally, "Toshshaharnur" will continue programs for installing modern and energy-efficient lighting devices and replacing old lamps. At the same time, the organization will engage in developing and implementing projects for Tashkent's architectural and decorative lighting systems, illuminating buildings, monuments, and other important sites.
This will contribute to making the city more aesthetically attractive. The organization will also be responsible for festive lighting of Tashkent ahead of national holidays and major events.
To finance these projects, special funds are planned to be allocated from the local budget in 2025. Furthermore, an annual financing mechanism will be established in the coming years to provide continuous support for these goals.
