In Uzbekistan, external education will be abolished starting from 2025
Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the admission of students to external education forms will be stopped, as reported by the upl.uz website.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the relevant decree on this matter. According to the decision, this ban will be equally applied to both state and private higher education institutions.

At the same time, students currently studying in external education will have the right to continue their studies based on existing programs and obtain a diploma.

Instead of external education, it is planned to develop evening, distance, and short-term (part-time) education forms.
