A new modern underground car road was opened in Tashkent
A new modern underground car road was opened in Tashkent
A new stage has been reached in Tashkent city with the commissioning of a modern underground automobile road. This was reported by Zamin.uz. On August 29, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally inspected this road built on Yangi O‘zbekiston Street. This was reported by the press service of the head of state. This road was constructed to develop the city’s infrastructure and to organize traffic flow efficiently, and it is especially important for Tashkent, where the population is increasing and the territory is expanding. Due to the construction of a park, residential complexes, universities, and the Olympic Village around Yangi O‘zbekiston Street, this area is rapidly developing. In the future, this street is expected to become one of the main roads leading to the New Tashkent city. The constructed underground road is 468 meters long and 25 meters wide, allowing more than 10,000 vehicles per hour to move through it. The road is organized in the form of a tunnel, its surface has been turned into a green zone, and convenience has been created for pedestrians to move safely between the “Yangi O‘zbekiston” park and the Olympic Village. Additionally, the construction of a tunnel and station for the planned metro line is also envisaged. Economically, this road will bring great benefits to the population. Due to faster vehicle movement, travel time will be reduced by half, daily fuel consumption will be saved by one ton, and the amount of harmful gases released into the atmosphere will decrease by two tons. This is not only a convenience for city residents but also plays an important role in improving the ecological situation. The head of state emphasized that the underground road was built according to modern standards. Such smooth and comfortable roads serve not only daily commuters but also make a significant contribution to the development of city tourism and infrastructure. This is an important step in effectively managing Tashkent’s future traffic flow and advancing the city’s culture to a new level. Source: press service of the head of state.

Construction of the new National Museum has started in Tashkent
Construction of the new National Museum has started in Tashkent
A solemn ceremony dedicated to the construction of the new National Museum took place in the capital of Uzbekistan on August 27. This was reported by Upl.uz. During the event, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the laying of the first stone. The project, with a construction cost exceeding 200 million dollars, will be built in the central area on four hectares and is planned to be the largest museum complex in the country's history. In his speech, the head of state emphasized the necessity of creating a modern storage facility to preserve the national heritage. Currently, over one million exhibits are housed in 30 museums in the capital. About 100,000 of these are kept in the Art Museum, but only 2,500 are displayed. Due to the lack of exhibition halls, the remaining exhibits are stored in storage facilities. These collections represent invaluable heritage reflecting Central Asian cultural relations with China, Japan, India, and European countries. According to the President, the unique works of art belong not only to our nation but to all humanity. Preserving, passing them on to future generations, and presenting them to the global community are integral parts of our national values. The design of the complex has been entrusted to the world-renowned Japanese architectural firm Tadao Ando Architect & Associates. They are developing the museum design in collaboration with the German company Atelier Brückner. The construction work will be carried out by China's CSCEC International Construction Corporation. The main principle in the museum's architecture is the harmony of square, triangular, and circular shapes, reflecting Tadao Ando's philosophy. The spaces between buildings are connected by passageways and staircases, allowing visitors not only to view the exhibits but also to experience the architecture itself. The new museum plans to exhibit up to 10,000 items simultaneously within 8,500 square meters of exhibition space. However, the complex's functions go beyond those of a traditional museum. Approximately 60 percent of the area will be allocated for educational and scientific activities. It will include a modern library, restoration laboratories, a special children's area, a 4,000-square-meter conference hall, and 6,000 square meters of storage facilities. As the President noted, historical and cultural values, ancient and modern artworks are currently kept in various museums across the capital, but now they will be gathered in one place. The complex will form a harmonious architectural ensemble with the Abdulqosim Madrasa, the Palace of People's Friendship, and the Alisher Navoi National Park. The project also holds great international significance. According to the President, not everyone visits the Louvre in France, the Metropolitan Museum in the USA, or the British Museum in the UK. Therefore, cooperation is being established with them, and unique exhibits will be brought to Uzbekistan and exhibitions organized. In an interview with "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel, Atelier Brückner founder Shirin Brückner described the project not as a simple museum but as a true open house for people. She noted the presence of public spaces, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The entrance tunnels visually connect the new museum with the historic Abdulqosim Madrasa, symbolizing the link between traditions and the future. Atelier Brückner Vice President Eberhard Schlag emphasized that the main advantage of the museum is gathering all the country's exhibits in one place and presenting them in a modern format. According to him, the museum is expected to become a landmark not only for Tashkent but for all of Uzbekistan. The current building of the Uzbekistan State Art Museum was constructed in 1974 and is an example of Soviet-era modernist architecture. Its cube-shaped facades are divided into square elements

Perseverance found ancient signs of life on Mars
Perseverance found ancient signs of life on Mars
NASA's “Perseverance” rover has made a new and exciting discovery on the planet Mars. This was reported by Zamin.uz. It identified unusual rocks in ancient riverbeds on the surface of the Red Planet. These rocks bear markings resembling “tiger fur carpets,” which are hypothesized to possibly be signs of life. Researchers are carefully studying these markings and emphasize that they are not definitive evidence of life, but rather an opportunity for further investigation. The minerals within the rocks formed as a result of certain chemical reactions. Scientists believe these processes may have occurred due to ancient biological activity — that is, involving microbes. Professor Sanjeev Gupta from Imperial College London noted that similar markings on Earth are associated with microbial activity, suggesting that such traces on Mars could indicate the presence of life. At the same time, he stressed that this finding does not conclusively prove life but represents an important step. The “Perseverance” rover analyzed the rocks using its onboard laboratory instruments and sent the results back to Earth. However, to make a definitive conclusion about the existence of life, these samples need to be brought from Mars to Earth. NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) are planning a mission to retrieve such samples, but due to budget cuts in the United States, the project remains uncertain. There is a possibility that the mission, scheduled for 2026, could be canceled due to reduced funding. Scientists are also investigating that these minerals could have formed through natural geological processes without microbes. Nevertheless, these processes also involve chemical reactions similar to biological activity. This discovery, one of the latest serious indications regarding the presence of life on Mars, could pave the way for future scientific expeditions. This serves as a significant milestone in humanity's quest to search for signs of life on other planets.
