'Crystal Palace' club officially announced that it has completed the deal to sell 43 percent of its shares from one of its former partners, Jon Textor. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
American entrepreneur Woody Johnson participated as the buyer. The deal amounted to £190 million and was approved by the English Premier League.
According to Sky Sports, the legal formalization of Textor's exit from the club's ownership will be significant in the complaint process against the decision of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to exclude them from the Europa League. Club representatives emphasize that the departure of the American has resolved the conflict of interest issue.
This is because his involvement in managing the 'Lyon' club had previously led to sanctions imposed by UEFA. Earlier, it was reported that UEFA had moved 'Crystal Palace' from the Europa League to the Conference League for the 2024/2025 season, based on violations of the rules regarding ownership of multiple clubs.
