“Rostov” football club's sports director Aleksey Ryskin commented on the reports that the president of the Russian Football Union, Aleksandr Dyukov, informed clubs about the tightening of restrictions on the number of legionnaires. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Ryskin stated that he has no personal information on this matter. He emphasized that he has only read such reports in the media.
Previously, there were reports that the Ministry of Sports planned to reduce the number of foreign players in Russian Premier League clubs to ten. According to the new regulations, only five to seven foreign players may participate on the field at the same time.
Currently, the “Rostov” team is in thirteenth place in the league table after two rounds in the Russian Premier League. The club has not yet earned any points.
This result indicates that the team has not been able to start the season successfully. It remains unclear how the new restrictions on the number of legionnaires will affect the club and other teams if they are confirmed.
