Famous sports commentator Denis Kazanskiy expressed his opinion about the possible tightening of restrictions on the number of foreign players in Russian football clubs. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Currently, teams in the Russian Premier League can register a total of 13 foreign players in a match, of which 8 can be on the field. Kazanskiy emphasized on his social media pages that regardless of the varying number of restrictions, this situation has not affected the emergence of young talents.
He noted that whether the restrictions are 7 or 5, 3 or 8, the number of talents has not increased as a result of these changes. In his opinion, true talent holders have still taken advantage of their opportunities.
According to recent information, the Russian Ministry of Sports plans to reduce the number of foreign players from 13 to 10 and to cut the number of players on the field from 8 to 5. These changes are expected to be implemented gradually, starting from the next season.
Thus, the aim is to create more opportunities for local players by tightening the restrictions. However, experts also point out that these changes may not yield the expected results.
