The "Liverpool" football club is actively working on the transfer of Crystal Palace and England national team defender Marc Guéhi. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to BBC information, the Merseyside club has held initial negotiations regarding the 25-year-old Guéhi. Last year, "Liverpool" had offered up to 65 million pounds for Guéhi, but the deal did not materialize.
Currently, "Crystal Palace" is looking to receive around 40 million pounds (approximately 46 million euros) for the defender, but "Liverpool" is willing to pay less than that amount. Previously, "Crystal Palace" chairman Steve Parish indicated that the club might be forced to sell Guéhi.
The reason is that the player's current contract expires next summer. Therefore, the club may agree to a transfer to avoid losing him as a free agent.
Negotiations are ongoing, and the parties have not yet reached a final decision. "Liverpool" is showing interest in adding Guéhi to strengthen their defense line.
Meanwhile, reaching an agreement on the transfer fee remains the main issue.
