The management of Moscow's "Torpedo" team has announced its intention to cancel the contract with head coach Oleg Kononov. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The necessary documents have been prepared by the club, but they have not yet been signed by the specialist. He is expected to sign the documents in the coming days.
After Kononov leaves the club, "Torpedo" will immediately begin negotiations with candidates who could potentially replace him. Earlier, Oleg Vasilenko, who previously managed Voronezh's "Fakel" team, was named as the main candidate for the head coach position.
Under Kononov's leadership, "Torpedo" has earned only one point in the first four games of the PARI League 2025/2026 season. The team management plans to appoint a new coach soon.
