Starting from October 1, 2025, new regulations will be introduced for moped and scooter riders in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, a driver's license and a state registration number will be mandatory to operate such vehicles. These requirements are being implemented to ensure road traffic safety.
Primarily, an A1 category driver's license is required to ride a scooter. This category grants the right to operate motorcycles and mopeds up to 50 cm³.
If the vehicle exceeds 50 cm³, an A category license must be obtained. Special driving schools offer training courses for obtaining an A category driver's license, which usually last two to three months.
The training program includes theoretical lessons, such as traffic rules and technical safety, as well as practical training. The cost of obtaining a driver's license varies depending on the training center and region.
On average, the price for an A category license ranges from two and a half to four million soms. Some centers also offer additional lessons before the exam for an extra fee.
Applicants for the license must submit the following documents: an identity document (passport), a medical certificate, an application from the training center, and a receipt confirming payment for the course. After successfully passing all exams, the driving school submits the documents to the Road Traffic Safety Service authorities or the process is carried out through the Unified Interactive Public Services Portal.
Riding a scooter is not only a means of personal transportation but also an additional source of income for many young people and students. Due to increased demand for courier and delivery services, job opportunities for scooter riders are expanding.
Restaurants, online stores, and other delivery organizations regularly hire scooter riders, providing freedom and flexibility at work. In conclusion, obtaining a driver's license to ride a scooter is not only a legal requirement but also an important step to ensure personal safety and future job opportunities.
Therefore, taking this matter seriously serves the interests of every citizen. Source: zamin.uz
