New measures are being introduced in the country to learn the Uzbek language and widely promote it internationally. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the presidential decree, starting from 2026, a comprehensive program aimed at developing the Uzbek language, improving the education system, and increasing the love and interest in the mother tongue among young people will be implemented. The decree states that from now on, a new generation of Uzbek language textbooks will be created for schools that provide education in related languages.
These textbooks will be developed based on modern pedagogical approaches and interactive methods. Additionally, special methodological manuals for preschool institutions as well as developmental resources such as "My First Explanatory Dictionary" will be prepared.
To strengthen young people's interest in their mother tongue, animated, video, and audio products in Uzbek for children are planned to be produced. Furthermore, essay competitions across the country, the "Best Uzbek Language Teacher of the Year" contest, and the international Uzbek language Olympiad named after Alisher Navoi will be organized annually.
The winners of this Olympiad will be admitted to philology programs at higher education institutions on a state grant basis, in addition to the general admission quota. Experts believe that this initiative will not only encourage deep learning of the mother tongue but also bring young people closer to national culture and spirituality.
At the same time, it will contribute to increasing the prestige of the Uzbek language on the international stage. These measures, implemented on the initiative of the president, aim to establish the Uzbek language firmly not only in the field of education but also in global scientific and cultural communications.
