The U.S. Department of State has announced a number of changes introduced to the “Diversity Visa” (Green Card) program. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Information about this has been provided on the agency's official website. According to it, some updates have been made to the application deadline and registration process for the DV–2027 lottery scheduled for 2027.
The exact dates for participating in the lottery and the day when results will be announced through the “Entry Status Check” system are expected to be announced soon. At the same time, these changes will not affect the visa application deadline.
The document submission process for the winners will continue as before, from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027. In previous years, applications for the Green Card lottery were accepted annually at the beginning of October and ended in the first week of November.
However, this year the process has not yet started. Additionally, in September, the U.S. Department of State announced the introduction of a new $1 fee for electronic registration to participate in the DV lottery.
This fee was introduced to automate the system and reduce the number of fraudulent applications. According to experts, these changes aim to increase the program's transparency and prevent technical errors.
