From January to September 2025, Uzbekistan achieved significant successes in the tourism sector. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the global tourism ranking, the country took seventh place in terms of growth rate. This was announced by the Tourism Committee based on the World Tourism Barometer international report.
These indicators are not only encouraging for the country but also strategically important. According to official data, the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan in 2025 exceeded the pre-pandemic 2019 figures by 73 percent.
This indicates that the country's position in the international tourism market has been restored and elevated to a new level. In the European region, Uzbekistan ranked second in restoring tourism flow.
At the same time, a 13 percent growth in the tourism sector was recorded compared to 2024. The year 2025 became a year of record results for Uzbekistan tourism.
Throughout the year, more than 10.7 million foreign guests visited the country. Starting from April, the arrival of over 1 million tourists each month indicates the formation of a new trend in the sector.
Additionally, the volume of tourism service exports has significantly increased, exceeding 4.4 billion dollars. These achievements are linked to the expansion of the visa-free regime, increased air and rail traffic, as well as active international promotion of the country.
Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva remain traditional main tourist centers. At the same time, demand is growing for ecological, gastronomic, and regional tourism directions.
The increase in the share of tourists coming from distant foreign countries also indicates that Uzbekistan's attractiveness on the world tourism map is strengthening. Overall, the results of 2025 have opened new opportunities for Uzbekistan tourism and laid the foundation for the country to take steps toward becoming one of the leading destinations in the global tourism industry.
