2025 could be one of the hottest five years in history
This year could enter the record for the hottest five. This was stated by Roman Vilfand, the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorology Center, in an interview with the TASS agency.

"There is a possibility that 2025 will be one of the five hottest years. This is related to the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases in recent years. Unfortunately, this process has not stabilized yet. In addition, ocean temperatures remain very high, and its active layer (in contact with the atmosphere - TASS note) has warmed well. This also affects the state of the atmosphere: the heat transferred from the oceans contributes to the increase in air temperature," he said.

Vilfand added that in the second half of 2025, it will be possible to specify where the hottest places will be among the hottest.
