The Vietnamese government has decided to carry out a mass evacuation of people in several regions of the country for safety reasons. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official data, more than 586,000 citizens will be relocated from dangerous areas before the strong "Kadziki" typhoon reaches the coast on August 25. This was reported by CNBC sources.
The "Kadziki" typhoon formed on August 20 in the sea near the Philippines and is rapidly intensifying, moving towards China and Vietnam. Currently, the typhoon's wind speed is approaching 200 kilometers per hour.
According to meteorologists' assessments, the typhoon may bring rainfall of up to 300–400 millimeters when it reaches the coast. This increases the risk of floods and landslides.
Additionally, due to the strong winds, wave heights in the sea may reach 2–4 meters. Approximately 60,000 small boat and ship owners in the region have been warned in advance.
The typhoon may cause serious damage not only to the population's safety but also to agriculture. According to experts' calculations, more than 300,000 hectares of rice fields and 77,000 fruit tree plantations may suffer losses.
Vietnam's major airlines – Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Aviation – have been forced to cancel a number of flights aimed at the country's central cities as a safety measure. Officials emphasize that this event may be one of the largest natural disasters observed in Vietnam in recent years.
For this reason, the government is mobilizing all resources and conducting evacuation and rescue operations under strict control.
