
Flights were temporarily halted at Germany's Munich airport on the evening of October 2 due to an attack carried out by drones. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the DW publication, at least 17 flights were canceled at the airport at 22:18 local time. Additionally, 15 planes were redirected to other airports, including Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Vienna, and Frankfurt.
This emergency caused delays for approximately 3,000 passengers. Airport operations resumed on October 3 starting from 5:00 AM.
According to the German police, drones were also flying over the skies of the nearby towns of Erding and Freising near Munich airport. Their movements were monitored from 21:30 until midnight.
Investigations are currently ongoing, and helicopters are being used in the search process. The ownership of the drones has not yet been determined.
Although this incident had a serious impact on airport operations, the investigation process may take a long time. Therefore, it is expected that measures to ensure airport security will be strengthened in the future.
To ensure passenger comfort and safety, control and monitoring systems at the airport will be further improved. Additional information regarding the current situation is expected to be provided by officials.
