The Belgium national team defeated Liechtenstein 7-0 in the final round of Group J, securing a spot in the World Cup. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From the start of the match, the hosts took the initiative and quickly managed to open the scoring. Hans Vanaken headed the ball into the goal, taking advantage of an error by the opposing defender, from a cross delivered from the right wing.
After that, the Belgian players increased their dominance through individual skills. Alexis Saelemaekers made a precise pass from the right wing, and Jeremy Doku successfully converted two chances, bringing the score to 3-0 before the break.
The Liechtenstein national team struggled to move out of defense and spent almost the entire match around their penalty area. They rarely managed to advance through the midfield.
The second half saw no change in the style of play. Belgium continued their attacks from the wings and set pieces.
Brandon Mechele scored after a pass from Youri Tielemans, making it 4-0. Then Saelemaekers scored the fifth goal by putting the rebound from a long-range shot into the net.
After that, Charles De Ketelaere made his mark. He first effectively took advantage of a one-on-one situation, then scored by sending the ball into the net following a rebound from Tom Meunier's shot, bringing the score to 7-0.
Thus, Belgium secured qualification for the World Cup. Liechtenstein finished the qualifying stage without points and goals.
