Pavel Durov was questioned in Paris for six hours

Telegram founder Pavel Durov was questioned again in Paris, France, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation that began in 2024, Zamin.uz reported.
According to French media, this was the fourth interrogation since his formal indictment, lasting over six hours. Global pressure and new details surrounding the billionaire continue to draw public attention.
Citing sources, Le Figaro reported that French authorities are continuing investigative actions regarding the possible liability of Telegram’s management for crimes allegedly committed via the platform. After the lengthy interrogation, Durov’s three lawyers issued a statement to international agencies.
As emphasized by the defense, no concrete evidence has been presented throughout nearly two years of proceedings to confirm the charges against their client. Lawyers have now filed complaints with French judicial bodies and relevant European judicial instances.
Pavel Durov was detained on August 24, 2024, at Paris airport without prior notice. French investigative authorities are advancing serious political and criminal charges against him.
These include allegations that Telegram failed to adequately moderate content and did not comply with legal requirements and requests from law enforcement. According to the investigation summary, such freedom on the messenger has led to serious difficulties in combating illegal trade, fraud, illegal activities against serious crimes.
At the same time, Pavel Durov remains under significant pressure not only in the West, but also by Russian authorities.
In France, investigative actions are still ongoing, and the Paris prosecutor’s office has officially confirmed that the criminal case remains open.
Meanwhile, the situation has also worsened in Russia. Starting in 2025, calls via the messenger were blocked in the country, and later its activity was artificially slowed down.
Even in February 2026, reports emerged that a new criminal case had been opened against Durov on charges of aiding terrorism. These events once again highlighted the global contradiction between digital freedom and state control.
