WHO: By 2050, 2.5 billion young people may lose their hearing ability
According to TASS, more than 1 billion young people worldwide are at risk of losing their hearing ability due to dangerous listening to music, as reported by Batir Berdiklychev, a representative of WHO in Russia.

The specialist noted that by 2050, nearly 2.5 billion young people will suffer from varying degrees of hearing loss. Additionally, another 700 million people will need rehabilitation due to problems arising from hearing impairment. Currently, approximately 5% of the world's population suffers from hearing loss, reaching a level of disability.

60% of hearing problems among children are preventable, which creates a significant opportunity to prevent deafness in the future. The WHO representative emphasized the importance of improving access to medical services, noting that more than 60% of hearing diseases can be treated in the early stages.
