South Korea has purchased six service dogs from Uzbekistan
An important agreement has been reached within the framework of international cooperation — South Korean specialists have purchased six service dogs bred in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz. These six four-legged specialists — Jessi, Bella, Farona, Rada, Fayz, and Fariz — underwent advanced training at the National Dog Training Center. Before being sent to South Korea, all animals were thoroughly examined by veterinary services. This ensured that they were in good health and ready for long flights. The shipping process was carried out at Tashkent International Airport in full compliance with international animal transportation regulations, and all necessary documents were provided. Upon arrival in South Korea, the dogs were received by customs services and are currently undergoing the process of adapting to the new climate and conditions. Once this stage is completed, they will be integrated into the national security system of the country. These service dogs are expected to be effectively used in the fight against drugs and smuggling. This cooperation not only demonstrates the reliable relations between the two countries but also reflects Uzbekistan's achievements in the field of cynology. Service dogs trained at the National Dog Training Center in accordance with international standards are in high demand abroad, clearly showcasing the potential of this sector in the country. It is worth noting that this is not the first contract. Previously, South Korea had purchased three service dogs from this center. With the addition of the new six dogs, the total number of service dogs sent to Korea from Uzbekistan has reached twelve. The growing international demand for service dogs trained in Uzbekistan is expected to lead to an increase in export contracts in the future. This will create opportunities for further development of the sector.

A customs inspector has been detained for bribery in Namangan
A bribery scheme was uncovered in the Namangan region. This was reported by Upl.uz. The crime involved a customs post inspector who used bank cards to receive illegal rewards. The inspector organized a covert channel to register the IMEI codes of illegally imported smartphones and accepted payments directly to plastic cards. The State Security Service of Uzbekistan provided information about this case. It was revealed that the inspector, in collusion with a local resident, offered to assist in formalizing the IMEI codes of 57 illegally imported iPhone smartphones. He demanded 100 dollars for each device, totaling 5700 dollars. Additionally, he requested an extra 400 dollars for turning a blind eye to a previously illegally imported batch of clothing. Interestingly, the money was not transferred in cash but was deposited into the bank accounts of the inspector and his relative. Within three days, a total of 23.5 million soums was deposited into these cards. On July 16, during a well-planned operation conducted in cooperation with the State Security Service, the Anti-Corruption Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Customs Committee, this individual was apprehended. The former inspector now faces charges under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (fraud using official position) as well as Articles 28 and 211-1 (bribery through mediation). The court has imposed a preventive measure of detention, and the investigation is ongoing.

A child was attacked by adults in the capital
An incident that occurred in a children's playground in the capital and its video footage spread on social media, attracting widespread public attention. This was reported by Upl.uz. Initial reports indicated that three adults attacked a minor child together, which sparked extensive discussions on how to resolve conflicts among children. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs issued an official statement regarding this incident. According to the information, the incident took place on April 28 of this year at around 16:00 in the "Shifokorlar" neighborhood of the Almazar district. It was revealed that a 36-year-old woman physically affected the child due to a conflict between her child and the victim. The injured child sought medical attention, and a forensic examination was conducted. According to the official conclusion, the injuries were minor and did not cause serious harm to health. An administrative case has been initiated against the woman regarding this incident, and a fine has been imposed based on Article 52 of the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This incident has once again revived discussions in society about parental responsibility and methods for resolving conflicts among children. Public opinion is divided into two parts: one group strongly criticizes the use of force against the child by adults, while others view the mother's actions as a natural reaction to protect her child. Nevertheless, this situation raises important legal and ethical questions in society: can conflicts among children justify physical intervention by adults, and what legal boundaries exist for such actions? According to Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by Uzbekistan in 1994, states are obligated to take all necessary legal, administrative, social, and promotional measures to protect children from physical or mental violence, abuse, and exploitation. Thus, protecting children's rights and safeguarding them from violence is one of the priority tasks of society.

The debtor's car was confiscated by court order in Tashkent
The Enforcement Bureau provided an official statement regarding the situation related to the stopping of a car in Tashkent. This was reported by Upl.uz. It was noted that the actions of law enforcement agencies were based on the existing court order and the debts of the car owner regarding natural gas consumption. The driver of the car had previously been wanted in an enforcement case. This situation attracted public attention. The incident occurred on July 16, 2025, on one of the busy streets of the capital, Fergana Road. Traffic police officers stopped a BYD Song Plus Champion model car and informed the driver that his property was confiscated due to court debts. The car owner stated that he did not agree with the claims and showed that payments for utility services had been made on time in his mobile application. Nevertheless, the driver's evidence was not accepted on the spot, and the car was taken to the impound lot. To resolve the situation, the debtor was required to present a document confirming that there were no debts. The man immediately contacted the district branch of "Hududgazta'minot" joint-stock company and was informed that there were no debts, suggesting that the situation might be the result of a technical error. However, according to the press service of the Enforcement Bureau, the enforcement actions are based on the court order No. 2-1002-2513/28984 dated April 11, 2025, of the Mirabad inter-district civil court. According to this document, a debt of 2,857,000 soums from the citizen to "Hududgazta'minot" JSC and 375,000 soums in state duty was to be collected. Based on the court document, enforcement proceedings were initiated by the Yashnobod district department on April 23, 2025. The debtor's car was confiscated because he did not pay the debt within the specified period. On May 23, 2025, the car and its owner were put on the wanted list in the relevant databases. The Bureau also emphasized that payments to the debtor's natural gas account were only made after the aforementioned measures were implemented. The funds were transferred through two separate transactions on July 1 and on the same day the car was stopped, July 16. The agency believes that this situation indicates that the debt was only paid under the threat of property confiscation.

Old trains in the Tashkent metro are causing heating issues
Old trains in the Tashkent metro are causing heating issues
An unusual heat condition observed in the capital has attracted widespread public attention. This was reported by Upl.uz. A video material captured by a passenger of the Tashkent metro quickly spread on social media. In it, the passenger warned about the lack of ventilation in the train cars and the high air temperature. This incident forced the Tashkent metro administration to issue an official statement. The statement explained the reasons for the problem that arose and provided information about the planned measures to address it. According to data in the transport sector, a stable and significant increase in passenger flow has been observed in recent years. This is related to the expansion of the city area and the commissioning of new stations. In such a situation, systematic measures are necessary to increase transport capacity and improve service quality. Over the past five years, 41 modern trains have been purchased for the needs of the metro. This has allowed for the renewal of more than half of the 36 old trains, mainly from the Soviet era. The new trains differ fundamentally from those previously used. They are equipped with air conditioning and heating systems, which are considered standard for modern urban transport. However, the train shown in the video belongs to an old series that has been in use for decades. The administration emphasizes that the design of these cars is not adapted for air conditioning installation, and retrofitting them is technically impossible. Despite the problems associated with the old trains, the renewal process is ongoing. Another 14 new trains are planned to be purchased in 2025-2026. Each train will consist of four cars and is intended to enhance service on the busiest routes. As of July 18, 2025, preparations for the delivery of new trains have begun. This process includes agreeing on technical specifications, determining logistics routes, and preparing the depot. Thus, the issue of eliminating inconveniences for passengers during the summer season will be fully resolved within the next two years. The old trains will gradually be phased out. The Tashkent metro was opened in 1977 and is the first metro in Central Asia. Many of its stations are masterpieces of art and architecture, each decorated based on a unique theme. For example, the "Cosmonauts" station is dedicated to space, while the "Alisher Navoi" station is dedicated to the works of the great poet.

The process of registering medical equipment will be simplified
The process of registering medical equipment will be simplified
Representatives of Uzbekistan's medical business have made a firm appeal to government agencies to reconsider and significantly simplify the processes of state registration and certification of medical equipment and medical products. This was reported by Upl.uz. This issue was a central topic in discussing the pressing problems of the industry at an open dialogue organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on July 15. During the meeting, Zafar Pulatov, head of the Bio Nur Med Servis company in Samarkand, delivered the main speech. He detailed the procedural barriers faced by companies importing high-tech medical equipment. He noted that even if the manufacturer has internationally recognized certifications in countries such as the European Union and the USA, the equipment is required to be registered nationally for a long period. According to Pulatov, the state registration process for any new medical equipment brought into Uzbekistan takes from six months to a year. This leads to significant delays in the introduction of modern technologies into clinics. He also drew attention to the paradoxical situation related to mandatory testing. If high-tech equipment has not been used in the country before, it remains questionable how local specialists can conduct full tests. Additionally, a separate certification process is required after the lengthy registration. To resolve the issue, Pulatov proposed recognizing international conformity certificates at the national level. In response to this proposal, Davron Vahabov, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, suggested forming a working group in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This group will develop an official list of well-known medical equipment manufacturers worldwide, allowing their products to be registered in a more streamlined manner. However, long processes are not the only problem. Pulatov emphasized the high costs of certification, noting that this issue is even more pressing for inexpensive medical products and consumables. For example, the cost of certification can be 100-200 times higher than the product's price. For consumables, a certification fee of 6 million soums has been set for a product priced at one or two dollars. The amount of state duty is applied equally to equipment worth a million dollars or consumables costing 10 thousand soums. When Pulatov pointed out this inconsistency, they suggested bringing in a large quantity of products. However, since the annual market demand is only 100-200 units, obtaining such volumes is not feasible. Furthermore, the need to bring a specialist from Tashkent for certification processes incurs additional costs of 1.5-2 million soums for the company. This increases logistics costs. The problems raised by medical equipment importers resonated with the opinions of representatives from the pharmaceutical sector. Another participant in the dialogue, whose name was not disclosed, made a similar proposal to simplify the registration of medicines and recognize certifications from leading international regulators. He noted that due to current barriers, popular European and American brands are gradually disappearing from local pharmacies, being replaced by medicines produced in Pakistan, China, and India. This situation not only reduces the profitability of the distribution business and pharmacy networks but also creates opportunities for the development of a black market for medicinal products. In many developed countries around the world, including the USA (FDA regulator) and the European Union (CE mark), a system exists where medical products are classified according to their risk level. Low-risk items, such as bandages,

Uzbekistanis choose Russia to provide for their families
The head of the Labor Market Research Institute under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Botir Alimuhamedov, indicated that the main reason for labor migration is the desire of Uzbek citizens to earn income to solve family problems. This was reported by Upl.uz. He expressed his views during a recent roundtable discussion. According to the data, the reasons for Uzbek citizens choosing the Russian Federation for temporary labor migration are not solely economic. The specialist emphasized that the ability to quickly adapt to living and working conditions in Russia and the ease of learning the Russian language are important factors. This allows labor migrants to integrate into society and the work process more quickly, resulting in their effective employment. Statistical data shows that more than 70 percent of the Uzbek workforce specifically chooses Russia for work. These figures confirm the aforementioned views. Thus, the main goal of labor migration is to ensure economic stability and support the family
