A temple from the 5th–8th centuries was found in Qanqa
An important archaeological discovery has been made in the Qanqa monument area in Tashkent region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, an ancient temple and military equipment dating back to the 5th–8th centuries were found in this area. Research conducted in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences' Institute of History and the Tashkent regional administration aims to transform Qanqa into an "Open-air museum."

Experts believe that Qanqa was an important city in Turan's history, with some scholars linking it to Qangdesh mentioned in the "Avesta" and Qangdez referenced in the "Shahnameh." During this year's excavations, ancient metal parts of armor were found in the lower part of the temple.

Researchers suggest that these items may have been brought to the temple as offerings by warriors. In ancient times, temples were not only religious centers but also an integral part of the people's culture.

Every person brought their cherished item to the sacred place, leaving it as a monument. According to specialists, the military equipment found in the Qanqa temple demonstrates the advanced level of weapon-making art and military culture of Turkic peoples.

Since 2021, excavations have also uncovered horse equipment at the temple's entrance. This year's discovery of armor pieces further confirms the Turkic peoples' great attention to martial arts and military traditions.

The Qanqa monument holds not only historical significance but also plays an important role in restoring national pride and historical memory. Archaeologists plan to turn this area into an open museum for tourists in the future.

It is worth noting that recently archaeologists in Egypt discovered a sunken port dating back to Cleopatra's era. Such discoveries provide more information about humanity's rich cultural heritage and mysterious events of the past.
