200 prisoners escaped from prison using an earthquake — Peace was disrupted in Karachi
An emergency situation occurred in the city of Karachi, located in southern Pakistan — During a minor earthquake at the prison in the Malir district, more than 200 prisoners managed to escape from their place of detention. This was reported by local media citing police.

According to reports, extensive evacuation efforts were carried out in the prison due to the natural disaster. Although nearly 2000 prisoners were relocated to other areas, 213 of them remained unaccounted for, disrupting order and leaving the prison.

The government quickly took action, and police forces surrounded the prison area. While the search for the escapees continued, 78 prisoners were recaptured. Unfortunately, one person was killed during the operation, and three security personnel sustained various degrees of injuries.

Currently, efforts to locate the escaped prisoners and regain control of the situation are ongoing. Officials have announced that a special investigation into this incident has been initiated.

Local citizens are shaken by this incident, and security measures in the city have been intensified. The security system in Karachi's prisons is expected to be reviewed.
