Zelensky: "We hope that the war will end this year"

At a joint press conference held with European Union leaders in Kyiv, a Norwegian journalist asked Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the future plans for the country and its people.
Zelensky: We want to end the war this year
In response to the journalist's question, "What plans are there for Ukraine and its people after three years of large-scale war?", Zelensky said:
“We hope that we can end this war not in three years, but this year.”
According to the president, Ukraine currently needs security guarantees to prevent Russian attacks. He believes that the country's accession to the European Union and NATO could be an important step in this regard.
Zelensky: “We hope the US will continue to help”
During the press conference, Zelensky was also asked about his relationship with US President Donald Trump.
“We hope that the US will continue to help, just like all partners,” said the Ukrainian leader.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining unity between Europe and America: “We must not lose the unity between Europe and the US.”
Zelensky noted that Ukraine is trying to end the war as soon as possible, so cooperation with international partners must continue. Joining NATO and the European Union could be one of the important directions that guarantee Ukraine's future security.
