Gazzaev: The number of RPL teams should be increased to 18

Famous football coach Valery Gazzaev expressed his opinion about the number of teams in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to the former CSKA head coach, there should be 18 teams in the top division of Russian football. He also cited UEFA's recommendation and drew attention to the current isolation conditions.

Currently, the Russian Premier League consists of 16 teams. The new season opened on Friday, where Moscow's "Dinamo" and "Baltika" teams played to a 1:1 draw.

The current Russian champion is the "Krasnodar" team, which won the championship title for the first time in its history in the spring months. In Gazzaev's opinion, increasing the number of teams to 18 will enhance the competitiveness of the league and positively impact the development of football.
