A deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Dmitriy Svişchov, expressed his opinion on the issue of restoring beer sales in stadiums. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the leaders of the Russian Football Union and the Premier League support the sale of beer products in stadiums again. Svişchov emphasized that currently, there are financial difficulties in the sports sector.
Due to the cost-cutting measures of club owners, investors, and sponsors, it is necessary to look for additional sources of income. The sale of beer and other alcoholic beverages in sports facilities in Russia has been banned since 2005.
Only during the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup was this ban temporarily lifted, and beer was sold. The second round matches of the Russian Premier League will take place from July 25 to 27.
Leaders want the bill to be passed, as new opportunities for financing sports are necessary.
