A new system for children will be introduced in Uzbekistan
Starting from February 1, 2026, a new system to ensure child safety — the professional foster family service — will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This mechanism is aimed at protecting children who have experienced violence, have been separated from their families, or whose lives and health are at risk, as well as those living in socially dangerous conditions. The system aims to create a safe and reliable environment for children.

The main principle of this practice is to care for and raise children in a family environment as much as possible, without placing them in state institutions. This method is considered much more effective for the mental state and social adaptation of children.

The professional foster family service is primarily intended for children who have experienced violence, those at risk of staying in their families, and children living in socially dangerous conditions. The responsibilities of such families are not limited to providing shelter only.

They also carry out responsible tasks such as protecting the child's rights, providing psychological support, reintegrating them into education, and helping their adaptation to society. This system aims not at temporary shelter but at creating the necessary conditions for stable development and a return to a normal life.

This initiative will help reduce the placement of children in boarding schools or other large institutions because the most optimal environment for children is the family environment.

The new system is expected to strengthen this principle. The professional foster family service will enhance the protection of children's rights and the system of social support for them.

Through this mechanism, it is possible to foster the confidence in children that "you are not alone."
