Uzbek citizens detained in Saudi Arabia have been returned to their homeland

From March 12 to 14, 19 Uzbek citizens, including women previously detained by law enforcement agencies in Saudi Arabia, were returned to their homeland.
It is reported that as a result of negotiations conducted by the Uzbek embassy with the competent authorities of Saudi Arabia, all detainees were returned to their families.
The Uzbek citizens had traveled to Saudi Arabia on tourist visas but remained in the country to seek employment without obtaining the necessary permits. Among the detainees were also compatriots under the age of 20.
The embassy urges all citizens planning to travel abroad to study the laws of the host country in advance, respect local customs and norms, and prepare all necessary documents to be legal and to seek employment.
“In addition, we recommend learning the basics of the host country's language for communication in various situations. If you find yourself in difficult situations in Saudi Arabia, you can contact the embassy in Riyadh or the consulate general in Jeddah,” the statement said.
