Ogunmodede, who worked as a cleaner in Britain, was dismissed for working overtime during his shifts. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Daily Mail reported on this matter. It was revealed that from 2008 to 2024, he repeatedly violated the minimum 11-hour rest period between shifts.
Additionally, it was found that on various days he worked two different jobs, combining shifts, which led to the termination of his employment contract. Ogunmodede stated that he felt well during his days off and was satisfied with his job.
However, the employer did not permit his overtime work and dismissed him. The cleaner claimed unfair dismissal and illegal withholding of wages and took the case to court, but the court rejected his claims.
According to the court's decision, Ogunmodede's actions were unlawful and could pose risks to his health and safety, as well as harm public interests. Furthermore, he was found guilty of not fully disclosing information about his second job to the employer.
This case once again highlights the importance of ensuring labor rights and compliance with working time regulations. Adhering to labor laws and organizing working hours in a healthy manner is crucial for both employees and employers.
