The US has launched a military operation in Venezuela, Caracas shaken
On January 3, 2026, a tense military situation arose in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to Western news agencies, the administration of US President Donald Trump has authorized the use of force against Venezuelan government leader Nicolas Maduro. Multiple explosions were recorded in the city in the morning, and it was reported that US armed forces had begun active operations.

The air strikes were mainly targeted at key facilities of Venezuela's defense system. Specifically, the Fort Tiuna military base and the Francisco de Miranda airbase were targeted.

The La-Guayra naval base located in Vargas state was also struck. This area is considered a strategic point housing the Venezuelan National Fleet Academy.

So far, it has been confirmed that at least six locations were hit, and black smoke has been observed rising over Caracas. It is also assumed that the US has not limited itself to air attacks but has also initiated a ground operation.

Witnesses reported seeing heavy CH-47 Chinook helicopters and AH-64 Apache attack helicopters in the city. The use of CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters in the operation indicates the involvement of expeditionary forces.

It is said that the Venezuelan armed forces have ordered Su-30MKV fighter jets to take to the air. Their task is to defend the country's airspace and stop US forces.

However, official agencies in Caracas and the US government have not yet commented on the situation. The speed of military actions and the scale of forces involved suggest a confrontation that could last for a long time.

The La-Guayra base that was struck is located at one of the deepest ports in the Caribbean Sea and has historically been considered an important maritime gateway to Caracas.
