The city of Grozny has appointed Stanislav Cherchesov as the new head coach of the "Akhmat" football team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He expressed his thoughts about the club president Yakub Zakriyev. According to Cherchesov, he does not like the word "project," but the new president clearly explained that he wants to take the club to a higher level.
Additionally, the president has openly stated his views. Cherchesov emphasized that work can begin when the views align.
It is worth noting that Stanislav Cherchesov officially took over as head coach of the "Akhmat" club on Wednesday. He had previously worked with this team 12 years ago.
At that time, the club was known as "Terek," and Cherchesov managed the team from 2011 to 2013. This season has started unsuccessfully for "Akhmat."
The team suffered four consecutive defeats, three of which were in the Russian Premier League and one in the Russian Cup. During this period, the team was managed by Aleksandr Storojuk.
The new head coach is expected to improve the team's results.
