Famous coach Valery Gazzaev expressed his opinion on the possibility of introducing a salary cap for Russian Premier League clubs. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that such measures would not yield positive results. According to Gazzaev, as a former player and coach, he believes that a salary cap would not serve the development and future of Russian football.
In the coach's opinion, such restrictions could reduce players' motivation and hinder the strengthening of clubs. Furthermore, former coach Gadjiev had also pointed out that a salary cap could lead to an increase in illegal practices.
He stated that as a result of such restrictions, some clubs might attempt to pay salaries secretly. Currently, the Russian championship has completed the fourth round of the 2025/2026 season.
The "Lokomotiv" team is leading the tournament table. Experts believe that such financial restrictions in football may not produce the expected results.
For this reason, it is necessary to approach this matter with caution.
