
A fire broke out at the Damai nursing home located in the city of Manado in North Sulawesi province, Indonesia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of the incident, 16 people died and 3 were injured. The fire started around 20:30 local time on Sunday.
According to Jimmy Rotinsulu, head of the city fire and rescue department, many victims were found in their rooms. Most of them were elderly people resting in the evening.
The fire was extinguished after one hour. The police are conducting an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
Local officials stated that the bodies of the victims were unidentifiable and urged their families to contact the hospital where the bodies were taken. During the fire, local residents actively assisted with evacuation efforts.
Such fire incidents frequently occur in Indonesia. Earlier this month, a fire broke out in a seven-story office building in Jakarta, resulting in the deaths of 22 people.
