At the meeting held on December 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that drivers visiting the capital will be able to leave their cars in special parking lots outside the city and enter the city using public transport. According to the decision signed in December, transport management in Tashkent will enter a new phase.
A unified intelligent control center will be established in the city, which will analyze traffic flow with the help of artificial intelligence. This system will serve to detect congestion in advance and prevent road traffic accidents.
Next year, two inspection posts at the city entrances will be relocated outside the city, and three more posts will be reconstructed. Parking lots for 3,500 trucks and 5,500 passenger cars will be built in these areas.
Additionally, camping sites will be organized for drivers and passengers, providing comfortable conditions. These points will be connected to the public transport network.
As a result, visitors will be able to leave their vehicles outside and enter the city quickly, safely, and affordably by public transport. The city administration will also work on improving traffic quality next year.
Specifically, 100 intersections with smart traffic lights will be introduced, 30,000 parking spaces will be constructed in cooperation with the private sector, 300 bus stops will be renovated, 40 km of pedestrian paths and 20 km of bicycle lanes will be established. In addition, 100 km of roads will be repaired, an overpass and tunnel will be built in Yunusabad and Yashnobod districts, and 200 electric buses will be purchased.
These measures aim to modernize the transport infrastructure in the capital and create convenience for the population. These updates are expected to significantly improve city life.
