It has been reported that in Uzbekistan, illegal use of energy resources in August caused a total material damage of 86.5 billion soums to the system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was provided by "O‘zenergoinspeksiya" based on their inspections. This figure is an accurate depiction of the damage caused by violations and illegal connections in the energy supply system.
During the inspection, 179 cases of consumers illegally connected to electricity and gas networks were identified. As a result, 36.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 8.7 million cubic meters of gas were consumed illegally.
These incidents seriously affected the stability of the system and caused significant financial damage to energy companies. Additionally, 476 administrative cases have been opened regarding the violations, and legal measures are being taken against the offenders.
Relevant materials have been handed over to law enforcement agencies. These measures are considered important to prevent illegal consumption in the future and to ensure that such crimes do not recur.
Experts noted that similar cases were observed in July as well, causing damage worth 96 billion soums to the system. Therefore, to prevent illegal connections and ensure efficient use of energy resources, control and preventive measures need to be further strengthened.
